Sky Randell

Sky is a hardworking and insightful young woman whose compassion, determination and commitment to excellence have won her the unanimous respect of her teachers and peers alike. She has achieved academic excellence in each of her three years at high school. In addition she has committed her time to several extracurricular pursuits within her school including: Book Club, Drama Club, Choir and especially on Student Council. Her commitment to service extends beyond her school as well in a number of community initiatives. She continuously demonstrates her selfless nature and does so without expectation for recognition. Sky’s charity of choice is the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada. She herself was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when she was 13 years old. She has learned to live with the disease and has found ways to continue to be a normal teenager despite the often painful and unpleasant symptoms. The disease can be hereditary and this is a great concern for Sky who has a younger brother and hopes to one day have a family. Her hope is that with her support and the support of many others, a cure can be found and fewer young people will have to battle this disease in the future.
