Morgan, a grade 11 student, is a positive leader who encourages others around her to excel. She displays organization, ambition and creativity and uses these in both the classroom and in extracurricular activities. She has served on the Athletic Council and Music Council as well as numerous sports teams and choirs. She uses her leadership skills in a number of other activities such as Breaking Down the Walls, Horizons Leadership Conference and Me to We Day. While she makes a big impact at school, Morgan is also involved outside of her school. Although involved in many community organizations, one stands out. Morgan has logged over 40 hours of volunteer service with the Canadian Red Cross, her charity of choice. The Canadian Red Cross mission statement describes their mission “to improve the lives of the vulnerable by mobilizing the power of humanity in Canada and around the world”. Morgan understands the value of their work, not only in disaster relief around the world but also in first aid and water safety programs right here in Canada, all offered to people no matter what race, background, sex, religion, social status or culture. They really are lending a helping hand to the world.
