Mikayla Stroeder

Mikayla, a grade 11 student, works very hard as a volunteer and leader at her school. She leads her school’s Youth in Action Club, volunteered as stage manager for the school’s drama production, attended this year’s Canadian Student Leadership Conference and was a candidate for Student Council President. Mikayla is very concerned about others and most especially in regards to global issues. Her favourite charity, Free the Children, works to empower young people to believe that they can create positive social change in their school, community and globally. Her work with this charity has empowered her to believe that she can make a difference and motivated her to organize many events and activities at her school to raise awareness of the difficulties faced by people in other countries. Education is one issue that she feels passionate about and she will continue to share that passion and educate her peers locally to assist their peers globally.
