Kelly, a grade 11 student, is consistently enthusiastic, positive and self-motivated both in class and in extracurricular activities. She works hard on her assignments and strives to be the best she can be. Kelly is a member of her SAC committee and has contributed to a wide variety of events in the school. She is also a committed member of the Dance Team and works to improve school spirit and the sense of school community for all. Her teacher explains “Kelly is a leader who finds great fulfillment in improving the lives of others”. She has been greatly inspired by her best friend who was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. Kelly has learned a great deal about the disease and wants to help to educate others about the disease and assist financially so that more research can be done. For this reason her charity of choice is Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC). Her friend’s persistence to not let the disease stop her has made Kelly more determined to support this Foundation so that her friend can finally beat this disease.
