Jessica, a grade 11 student, has been able to strike a natural balance between student activities and her academics. As one of her teachers notes “she is a mature young woman who sees the bigger picture and strives to meet the needs of a wide range of groups through the school and the Preston community.
Jessica not only volunteers her time and organizational skills but also has the ability to motivate others to participate as well. These abilities serve her well in her work at Pride Stables, her charity of choice. It is a farm in Kitchener that offers therapeutic riding to children with disabilities. They serve over 350 people per week, working with over 250 volunteers and 26 horses. Jessica has seen firsthand how the Pride Stables has helped so many young people to feel better about themselves and to see that the world is a better place.
