Elizabete is intelligent, articulate and athletic and also humble considerate and respectful. All of these qualities help to make her a worthy recipient of the France-Anne Sweeny Grade 11 Award. She serves as the Faith and Justice Representative on her school council as well as serving on many other school clubs which promote community and a sense of belonging and she does this with genuine passion and leadership. She is also an honour roll student who is very driven and enthusiastic when it comes to learning and working with her teachers and peers. She has been a leading member of the school’s Rugby and swim teams. In all of these activities, Elizabete is very aware of the importance of role models and strong mentoring relationships. It is for this reason that she has selected Big Brothers Big Sisters as her charity of choice. She believes very strongly that positive older role models impact young people’s lives in many positive ways. Her wish is that all young people have the opportunity to have a relationship with a reliable older “brother or sister”. As she states “the relationships built through this organization last a lifetime, which is so vital in the life of an individual”.
